Our Childcare Services

Little Learners Lodge and Montessori of Mount Pleasant serve as a demonstration site for the center's training component. The program is intentionally designed to support families interested in Magda Gerber's Educaring Approach and the Montessori Method through Kindergarten graduation, the first six years of life. We are uniquely designed to support continuity and primary care. Children begin their experience at the school with a group of peers under the guidance of a certified primary teacher. The environment is organized to meet individual and group needs as the children mature, limiting the number of transitions between classrooms and keeping peer groups intact.
Families enrolling in the center do so with the understanding that the program is a demonstration site for paraprofessional training and research, which also requires media release forms. Parents are expected to attend regular community meetings together with primary teachers, attend adult education opportunities held at the center, and participate in the Parent Action Committee (PAC). Families enroll with the mindset of partnering with the school community long-term through Kindergarten graduation.
