David, co-owner and human resource director of MMP School, combines a wealth of expertise and a deep passion for nurturing young minds. With certifications in RIE Foundations, Pikler Intensive Study, and AMS Montessori Early Childhood Education, David is committed to fostering environments where children can grow into confident, authentic individuals. His diverse background includes roles as a Master Naturalist and Master Gardener, a former city council elected official, and a beekeeper, enriching his unique approach to education.

David’s journey into Montessori education was inspired by Maria Montessori, his wife, and his mother-in-law. With a foundation in teamwork and perseverance gained from playing and coaching competitive sports, he embraces the philosophy that education is a collaborative effort. For David, every day offers an opportunity to create challenging yet supportive environments where children can explore, make mistakes, and learn with confidence.

Nature plays a pivotal role in David’s educational philosophy. Whether guiding children through marshlands or introducing them to the wonders of the natural world, he believes these experiences are absorbed into their being and shape a lifelong appreciation for the environment. His vision for MMP School extends beyond the present, aspiring to leave the school better than ever for the next generation.

David is dedicated to partnering with parents from the start, offering guidance and resources to help them navigate the journey of parenthood. He finds great fulfillment in the mutual trust and understanding that develops between families and educators, strengthened by shared goals for each child’s growth.
