Ms. Bridget
Teacher
Ms. Bridget is a dedicated teacher and parent whose passion for progressive education has shaped her career and enriched the lives of children and families at MMP School. With a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Assistant Training, and hands-on experience studying the Reggio Emilia approach in Italy, Bridget brings a wealth of knowledge and a global perspective to her classroom.
Bridget’s journey into education stems from her belief in teaching the whole child and fostering an education that positively impacts the world. Inspired by her time in Reggio Emilia’s infant and toddler programs, she integrates the values of respect and presence into her daily interactions with children. Having worked in other childcare centers, Bridget was drawn to MMP School while searching for a nurturing, respectful community for her daughter and herself as an educator. The peaceful environment and outcomes she observed in the children solidified her commitment to the school.
Bridget understands that children learn through a delicate balance of independence and collaboration- growing together as a community without competition. She emphasizes the importance of consistency, respect for time, and a fully present teaching approach to create a secure and joyful learning environment. Her strategies for engaging with parents include weaving Montessori principles into everyday conversations and building strong partnerships that support the child’s growth at home and in school.
Bridget’s hope for her students is that they carry with them the values of respect, joy, generosity, and confidence. To parents, she offers this timeless advice from Magda Gerber: “Slow down and then slow down some more.”
